My Quarantine Business Retreat – Day 9

All small businesses have at least some intellectual property. They may have original works of authorship (photos, videos, blogs), inventions, a creative logo, or business information that is secret and would give their competitors an advantage if they learned it (customer information, processes, and procedures, marketing information). Intellectual property may be protected through the contract, registration, and practices of a business. Some businesses may also be unintentionally infringing on someone else’s intellectual property. Now is a good time to make sure that your images are public domain, created by you, or covered by a license, not just pulled off a Google search. You can also make sure that your logo or name isn’t infringing someone else or determine if it is appropriate for registration. Get to know your intellectual property!
